Perfect for walkers and cyclists (part of the scenic route from Lands End to John o' Groats). Pendle Hill provides lovely walks and the historic links with the infamous Pendle Witches.
The magnificent Stonyhurst College and Whalley Abbey are well worth a visit and of course only five minutes drive away is the historic market town of Clitheroe whose medieval castle overlooks an abundance of traditional shops selling everythng from antiques to local produce. The surrounding villages feature award winning restaurants, museums and galleries and are filled with fascinating examples of the area's heritage.
